Welcome Gary Cahill

Finally the deal was put to bed after Gary Cahill agreed to the move. As a Die hard Chelsea maniac I wish u all the best Gary . After leaving Aston Villa for Bolton, many thought the career of Cahill is heading down the pipe but still he established himself as one of the finest defenders in the league. So hoping for some memorable moments from you and awaiting your Dream Debut against Norwich ...KTBFFH

Cahill would be a Coup if we sign him

With the transfer market now open, the first club to be linked with major coups was Chelsea. From a centre forward to a centre back, Chelsea were linked with every possible pieces available in the market. But as the market opened, Bolton manager Owen Cyle confirmed Bolton have agreed to part ways with Gary Cahill after they accepted a 7million fee from Chelsea. But the move stalled with the personal demands of Cahill proving too expensive to handle. But if the negotiators are successful in completing the move, then surely it would be a coup for 3 the following reasons -

  • Cahill is just 26 which is closest to a prime stage for a defender.
  • Cahill has been the backbone of Bolton defence and to get the star man around 7 million would be a bargain.
  • The imminent departure of Alex will be filled with Cahill filling the void. Dats why no need of Bosingwa being considered as a centre back during an injury crisis.
  • Cahill have played with John Terry in an England shirt. So both will be able to adjust into their defensive partnership role with ease.
  • Cahill have the ability to defend deep which makes him more reliable to the Chelsea style of defending.
Thus if the deal is pulled through,I see Chelsea as the worthy winners of the transfer. But only "IF" the deal is successful.

Thoughts on Wolves vs Chelsea

Finally we tasted victory against Wolves after three dissapointing draws and one unexpected defeat. As we know, 3 points is always good. But the manner in which we won was not very convincing. There was a time under Jose Mourinho when we used to hold on to a 1-0 result at east.

But not nowadays as we conceded again after being one upfront. But thanks to the 179th strike from Frank Lampard, we managed to grab the three points. With Portsmouth waiting at the wings, it would be nice to make it two out of two to gain some much needed confidence before facing Martin O Neille's rejuvenated Sunderland.

Star of the match against Wolves - Fernando Torres (to be honest he had one of the best matches in a blue shirt. Only the goal was missing)

Flop of the match against Wolves -  Jose Bosingwa (Once again Bosingwa proved his vulnerability while defending which allowed Fletcher to set up Ward for the equaliser)
